XXV Winter Olympic Games

The XXV winter Olympic Games, also known as Milano Cortina 2026, scheduled to take place from the 6th to the 22nd February 2026 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo: the Milano-Cortina games are the third Italian edition of the winter Olympic Games, after 1956 and Turin 2006.

The competitions of this edition will take place, besides in the two host cities Milano and Cortina, also in other places in Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige: a memorable event, widespread on 22.000 square meters territory.

Alpine skiing will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the queen of the Dolomites (Olimpia delle Tofane track) and in Bormio (Stelvio track), whereas cross-country ski races in Tesero, snowboarding and the freestyle in Livigno (Sitas, Tagliede/Carosello 3000), figure ice skating in Assago (Mediolanum Forum), speed skating in Baselga di Piné (ice stadium), ice hockey in Milan (Palaitalia and Palasharp), ski jumping and combined Nordic in Predazzo (Giuseppe Dal Ben springboard), biathlon in Rasun-Anterselva ( Alto-Adige arena), and finally bobsleigh, sleighing, skeleton and curling also in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Eugenio Monti Olympic ski track and the Ice Olympic Stadium). The opening ceremony will be held in Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and the closing ceremony in Verona at the Verona arena.

Not only Olympic Games. Milano Cortina 2026 will also be the theatre for the Paralympic Games. The XIV winter Paralympic Games will be held in Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo from the 6th to the 15th March 2026, in the same places where the XXV winter Olympic Games will be host. As for the Olympic Games, also the Paralympic Games will be the first featuring multiple host cities in the history of this event.

To the schedule of the next winter Paralympic Games belong 8 sports: biathlon, wheelchair curling, sledge hockey, Para bobsleigh, Para skeleton, Alpine skiing, down-hill skiing, snowboarding.
